Funding Awards
| | Since First 5 Glenn County started in 1999, grants totaling more than $2,600,000 have been made to ten major grantees.
The Commission will utilize the Meet to Reach Mutual Agreement (MRMA) for the first time in FY 2006-2007. The process, will be initiated by the Commission using the approach described below. By implementing this funding mechanism the Commission seeks to simultaneously develop the capacity of community residents and service providers while promoting collaborative service design and system improvements. | |

| | Meet to Reach Mutual Agreement (MRMA)
Meet to Reach Mutual Agreement (MRMA) is a collaborative funding allocation process that uses community input to provide services by fostering cooperation among qualified groups, organizations and individuals to join together to plan and implement programs, services and/or activities maximizing the impact and involvement in the community.
Guiding Principles
The guiding principles that will shape the work of the Commission are: - Systems Impact-selecting strategies that will lead to long lasting change across multiple agencies as opposed to funding only one or two entities;
- Capacity Building;
- Shared Ownership-consistent with community input/vision;
- Realization that tradition approaches are not meeting the needs of the community;
- Co-creation of the initiative with the community and the providers;
- Building the vision in stages-we don't have enough funds to solve the problem, but we can break it down in to logical parts and begin with the most important pieces;
- Using known best-practices to guide program planning; and
- An evaluation plan that will serve as an assessment of its impact and a living learning guide to help improve implementation.
