Volunteers Welcome

| | The Commission helps decide what programs and services are most needed by Glenn County children ages 0 to 5 and their families. Members are volunteers from the following groups: | |
|
| | - Community members
- Educators specializing in early childhood development
- Representatives from local child care resource/referral agency or coordinating group
- Individuals from groups promoting prevention or early intervention for families at risk
- Representatives from community-based organizations that promote nurturing/early childhood development
- Glenn County pediatricians, obstetricians or family practice doctors
- Local school districts

| | By state law, the Commission must include at least one member of the Board of Supervisors and two other County managers involved in children and family services. The remaining members of the Commission are drawn from community-based organizations and the public at large, with the requirement that such members are either recipients of services included in the strategic plan or representatives of organizations providing designated services (childcare, health, family support, education and other related services) to children and families. | |

| | First Five Glenn County welcomes community volunteers to serve on the Commission.
Parents with children under the age of five, who might use county or private services, have priority for appointment to the commission.
